Job Description Responsibilities

·         Be the last point of escalation of UNIX / HPUX and HP service guard related issues including VPAR NPAR

·         Act on Day to Day Administration tasks by using tools & scripts

·         Ensuring the client and ticket is up to date at all times on incident progress.

·         Documentation Systems/Tools/Service management documents update

·         Liaising with relevant support teams for all clients to ensure they are informed about relevant progress and issues relating to HPUX & Linux server.

·         Abiding by ITIL V3 Change Management, Incident and Problem Management procedures, including complying with the Service Level Agreements as documented by CenturyLink

·         Maintain, troubleshoot and co-ordinate replacement of faulty hardware.

·         Involved in the planning and execution of Client Change Requests in a timely manner.

Essentials:   

·         Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.

·         5 years to 9 Years of HPUX System Administration with multi flavor UNIX experience.

·         Minimal of 2+ years of remote Datacenter experience.

·         Knowledge of web-servers, security, DNS, file systems.

·         Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl, bash, sh, etc.)

·         Must Have - Linux, TCP/IP, Apache, basic network trouble shooting,

·         Kernel Tuning, NFS, LDAP

·         Patch implementation & maintenance, Licensing and Performance Management.

·         Disk Management LVM

·         Remote hardware Management.

·         Performing assigned tasks in accordance with established standards and guidelines.

·         Security Administration ADD/Remove/Troubleshoot Security Policies

·         Tools Administration Agent Installation

·         Device Management Installation and Configuring devices

·         Syslog & log Management

·         Backup Troubleshooting

·         Basic Database Trouble shooting

·         Logging a call with Hardware and Software Vendors

·         Open to work in 24/7/365 environment

·         Experience configuring Veritas Volume Manager and Linux LVM

 

 

Certifications:

·         HPUX & ITIL Certification Non-Technical Experience

·         Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer service.

·         Global work experience with EUROPE/ US/Africa 

·         Documentation experience.

Responsibilities:

·         Managing UCS and Vmware environment

·         Be the last point of escalation for UCS/ LINUX / and VMware ESX related issues

·         Act on Day to Day Administration tasks by using tools & scripts

·         Ensuring the client and ticket is up to date at all times on incident progress.

·         Documentation Systems/Tools/Service management documents update

·         Liaising with relevant support teams for all clients to ensure they are informed about relevant progress and issues relating to Linux server.

·         Abiding by ITIL V3 Change Management, Incident and Problem Management procedures, including complying with the Service Level Agreements as documented by CTL

·         Maintain, troubleshoot and co-ordinate replacement of faulty hardware.

·         Involved in the planning and execution of Client Change Requests in a timely manner.

·         Escalation of critical issues/outages to Management as per procedures.

·         Provide detailed feedback to other groups on all incident resolutions, ensuring full details are entered into ticket case notes.

·         Daily review and action of open cases; updating Manager on current cases and their status as appropriate.

·         To provide comprehensive handovers to peers at the end of shift.

  •     Attend Daily Operations and Change Review Meetings as required.
